Analyze Pillar · BigQuery Training

Stop exporting CSVs — teach your team to use BigQuery directly.

This program helps marketing, product, and analytics folks get comfortable querying GA4 exports and event tables in BigQuery — and turning them into real decisions and dashboards.

  • Understand your event schema in BigQuery, not just in GA4.
  • Write queries that answer real funnel and cohort questions.
  • Feed Looker Studio or other BI tools from clean views.

No generic sample datasets — we work off your GA4 exports or event pipelines, with guardrails.

Prerequisites

  • Basic familiarity with analytics concepts.
  • Comfort with spreadsheets or simple reporting tools.
  • No deep SQL background required — we build that.

If you already have a strong analytics engineering team, we can focus on marketing/product use cases and leave heavy modeling to them.

Training modules

Practical SQL and warehouse skills, tailored to your event data.

We don't try to turn everyone into data engineers. We focus on giving your team the queries and patterns they need to answer their day-to-day questions without waiting for a custom report.

Getting comfortable in BigQuery

  • Navigating projects, datasets, and tables.
  • Understanding GA4 export schemas and common fields.
  • Basic SELECT, WHERE, GROUP BY, and ORDER BY patterns.

Answering marketing & product questions

  • Building funnels and cohorts directly from events.
  • Attribution-style questions with event data.
  • Churn, retention, and engagement views for product and CX.

Creating reusable views & models

  • Designing views for dashboards and recurring analysis.
  • Managing cost and performance for recurring queries.
  • Documenting datasets so others can self-serve.

Connecting BigQuery to dashboards

  • Feeding Looker Studio or other BI tools from clean views.
  • Governance: who gets access to what, and how.
  • Setting up simple QA routines to trust what you see.

Format & cohorts

Built for cross-functional teams who share the same data.

We usually recommend mixed cohorts of marketers, product folks, and analytics people who all care about the same metrics and users. That way, the queries we write together are immediately useful to everyone.

  • 2–4 live sessions of 60–90 minutes each.
  • Exercises and example queries provided as templates.
  • Follow-up Q&A optional while teams start using views.

What we'll ask for ahead of time

  • A service account or user with query access.
  • A quick tour of your datasets and event tables.
  • Example questions you want to answer from BigQuery instead of GA4/BI alone.

We'll design the first queries around those questions so the training isn't hypothetical.

Next step

Let’s make BigQuery usable for marketing and product.

In 30–45 minutes, we’ll review how you’re using BigQuery today (if at all), who needs access, and what questions you want to answer directly from event data—then outline a practical training plan.

  • Senior-led analytics & implementation support.
  • Focused on decision-ready, trustworthy data.

e.g. GA4 + GTM + Shopify + Meta + HubSpot

e.g. broken conversion tracking, conflicting numbers, unclear attribution…
