Note! This feature only tracks events on websites. If you find that it is turned off, enabling it is straightforward.

However, accessing and understanding this data can be challenging for beginners. 

Here’s a guide on how to ensure this feature is turned on and how to access outbound link data in GA4:

Navigate to Admin: In your GA4 property, go to the Admin section.

Data Streams: Under the Property column, click on Data Streams.

Select Your Data Stream: Click on the data stream for your website.

Enhanced Measurement: Ensure that Enhanced Measurement is enabled. This includes tracking outbound clicks by default.

Step 2: Configure Outbound Click Tracking in Google Tag Manager

Save and Publish

Save your tag and trigger, then submit and publish your container.

Verify Tracking
