Google Analytics (GA4) & Google Tag Manager

GA4 and GTM were set up to report. Keeping them accurate is a different job.

When GA4 and GTM drift, with conversions firing on the wrong triggers and consent gated unevenly, the signal your ad platforms optimize from stops matching backend revenue and finance stops trusting CAC. GA4 and every ad platform read whatever the container sends, so an event schema nobody owns and unversioned changes degrade it quietly. In our Google Analytics consulting we implement, migrate, and govern: we design the schema, build the container to match, and govern every change; see how we connected sessions to backend reservations for Atomic Golf.

01How we work

Implementation, migration, and governance.

01
Implementation

We design the event schema and the dataLayer contract first, then build the GTM container and the GA4 configuration to match, with consent gating on every tag. Where server-side collection fits, we build it with server-side GTM. The output is an implementation your team can extend without breaking what exists.

02
Migration

We move you from the setup you have to a governed one: from tags that accreted over years to a versioned, documented container; from client-side-only collection to a server-side architecture where it is warranted; from GA4 reporting alone to a BigQuery export that reconciles against your backend. Each move is planned against the event schema so nothing silently drops.

03
Governance

Containers and properties drift: unversioned changes, renamed events, tags added without an owner. Governance is the process that stops it: container versioning and change control, a named owner for each event and tag, and periodic reviews against the documented schema. It can run as an ongoing retainer after the work above.

Planning the move against your event schema so nothing silently drops: from an accreted container to a versioned one, from client-side-only collection to server-side where warranted, and from GA4 reporting alone to a BigQuery export reconciled against your backend.
It is the process that keeps a container and property from drifting: versioning and change control, a named owner for each event and tag, and reviews against the documented schema. Without it, the setup that was accurate at launch degrades with every release.
Yes. Client-side GTM, server-side GTM, and the handoff between them. Server-side GTM is covered on its own page.
Start with the Measurement Architecture Assessment: a scoped diagnostic conducted by a senior principal. It begins with a 30-minute conversation, runs three to five weeks, and ends with a document you own.

Good implementation is the start; governance keeps it accurate.

Bring us in to implement, migrate, or govern. You leave with a documented schema, a container your team can extend, and a process that keeps both from drifting.
